Meditation is a simple practice available to all and is an approach to training the mind to be present. It can reduce stress, increase calmness and clarity and promote happiness.
So how do you learn how to meditate?
Learning how to meditate is straightforward, and the benefits can come quickly. And it is often quite difficult for a beginner to sit for hours and think of nothing or have an “empty mind.” In this session, you will learn techniques to get you started on a path toward greater equanimity, acceptance and joy. We can dive into one technique or explore several. The session is built around your needs and designed to offer you some tools s to help you through this process when you are starting out.

Art As Meditation
Drawing, just like meditation, helps us learn how to relax and bring a sense of calm into our lives. As we concentrate on creating lines and filing those lines with color, we achieve the same state of awareness, focus and presence as we do in meditation. It’s also great tool for emotional expression and self soothing.
Choose either the Mandala or Flower of Life (descriptions below)
Mandala
We will begin this session with chanting sanskrit mantras accompanied by harmonium. Then we will dive into the art of drawing our mandalas. You will be given the starting point and techniques to begin your own unique mandala, and then allowed the space to create.
Creating mandalas is an extremely personal and introspective process, and will benefit people in different ways, often increasing self awareness and as a mindfulness practice. There is a therapeutic and symbolic nature attached to creating mandalas. Working with mandalas will assist in self healing, self exploration and self expression. Plus, its a lot of fun enjoyed by adults and children alike!
Group and individual sessions available.
Art Materials are provided for individual sessions.
(paper, cards, paint, colored pencils and markers, glitter and more!)
Group sessions will incur an additional materials fee per person.

Flower of Life
We will begin this session with sound healing using crystal & Tibetan bowls, flute, gongs, chimes, drums, and so much more! Then we will dive into the art of drawing our Flower of Life. You will be given the starting point and techniques to draw your own unique Flower of Life, and then allowed the space to create and decorate.
Just as when creating mandalas, drawing sacred geometry will benefit people in different ways, often increasing self awareness and as a mindfulness practice. Creating the Flower of Life and working with sacred geometry will not only assist in self healing, self exploration and self expression, but will help to increase awareness and expand consciousness. Plus, its enormously fun!
The Flower of Life is the modern name given to a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a sixfold symmetry like a hexagon. The center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter. It is a symbol of sacred geometry, and considered by some to contain ancient, religious value depicting the fundamental forms of space and time.

$100 per hour, minimum 1.5 hrs. Some sessions may require extended time based on intentions, material and number of participants.
